Terms of service

These terms govern your use of trawl (https://trawl.dev) and its APIs, operated by Trawl, Inc. By creating an account or calling the API you agree to them.

The service

trawl provides data APIs. Each plan includes a monthly request allowance and a per-second rate limit; requests beyond either limit are rejected, never billed. Only successful (2xx) responses count against your allowance.

Your account

  • Keep your API keys secret. Calls made with your key are yours.
  • You're responsible for what you build with the data, including complying with the laws that apply to you.
  • Don't circumvent rate limits or metering, probe or disrupt the service, or resell raw API access itself. Using the data inside your own products is what the service is for and is fine.

Billing

  • Paid plans renew automatically (monthly or yearly) through Stripe until cancelled.
  • Cancel anytime — your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then drops to Free. No partial-period refunds.
  • Upgrades apply immediately with prorated credit for unused time; downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.

The data

Data is compiled from public sources and provided as-is. We work hard on freshness and accuracy but don't guarantee either, and we're not responsible for decisions made on top of it.

Availability and changes

Self-serve plans carry no uptime SLA (enterprise agreements can). We may add, change, or retire endpoints; for breaking changes to a live API we give notice through the docs and by email.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or threaten the service's integrity. You can delete your account at any time from the console.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we'll note it here with a new date and email active subscribers. Questions: support@trawl.dev.
